![]() Without a doubt in the future, the 2022 models will be the most collectible due to their rarity. So now the R35 has a sense of rarity just like the generations that came before it. Dealers won't and don't stock these cars anymore. Nissan advertises that all available GT-R models are "sold out". Yet, the production of the R35 has reached its inevitable end. How many people are going to choose a Nissan, regardless of its capability, over a McLaren or Ferrari? You would have to love the GT-R brand to your core. The finishing touch, the wheels are painted a rich gold color. Manufactured by RAYS, the wider-than-stock wheels require wider front fenders to allow for clearance, while adding even more visual muscle to the Nissan GT-R’s already powerful lines. The NISMO model is even more staggering at a $210,740 MSRP. To enhance handling and grip, the GT-R T-spec wears special 20-inch forged alloy wheels. This pushed the GT-R into a different tax bracket over the years. What once was the ultimate bargain supercar became a lot more super, but at a cost. A shocking $43,690 increase in 15 years of production. Now, the price for a 2022 Premium model (confusing as it is the base model) is $113,540 MSRP. Back in 2007, the R35 GT-R was an absolute bargain at $69,850 MSRP. It also eclipses any offering by their luxury brand, Infiniti, by a long shot. We can't help but emphasize that the R35 GT-R is by far the most expensive car Nissan sells or has ever sold. Challenge his size and strength and expect a humbling experience. That's because Godzilla doesn't care what you think, he is here to destroy everything in his path. It is big and heavy, but it feels nimble and precise. Clear track on a sunny day? Another day at the office. Take the GT-R to the snow with winter tires, no problem. The mechanical grip is at monstrous levels. As far as performance goes, the 2022 GT-R doesn't have any true shortcomings. Whether equipped with carbon ceramics as found on the NISMO model, the GT-R brakes are stellar. Driver's can adjust between Comfort, Normal, and "R" modes to tailor to grip conditions. Standard Bilstein shocks are all adjustable from within the cabin. Getting to 60 mph in 2.9 seconds or less is a violent act in its nature. While not as refined as a Porsche PDK, the brutality of the transmission is part of its charm. Going through the cogs is still possible manually, through the paddle shifter. A specific "R mode" optimizes performance and is adjustable to user settings. As for the emergency braking test, the R32 and R34 come in second and third, while the R33 finishes dead last.The 6-speed dual-clutch is more refined than ever. The pecking order is carried over in the roll races. The R34 is second with 14.8 seconds, the R33 needs 15.1 seconds, and the R32 driven by Mat Watson finishes the drag race in 15.5 seconds. Now that we’ve finished going through the numbers that matter, does it come as a surprise the R35 generation launches like a bat out of hell? The Skyline-less model finishes the standing quarter-mile in 11.6 seconds, which is pretty alright for an unprepped surface like the runway used by carwow. The R34 tips the scales at 1,560 kgs (3,439 lbs), the R33 weighs 1,540 kgs (3,395 lbs), and the R32 weighs in at 1,430 kgs (3,153 lbs) to its name. Priced at $210,740 before destination charge, the NISMO-infused R35 also happens to be the heaviest of the brunch at 1,720 kilograms (3,792 pounds). Equipped with a V6 rather than an I6, the latest and the greatest GT-R cranks out 600 force-fed ponies and 481 pound-feet (652 Nm) of torque at 3,600 rpm. The R33 levels up to 340 horsepower, and the R35 doesn’t really need any introduction. ![]() The silver-painted R33 also makes 276 horsepower on paper, but in truth, we’re dealing with 320-odd horsepower. Later on, the 3.7L V6 improved to 305 hp. Acura RL in the United States, which cranks out 296 free-breathing horsepower from a 3.5L V6. The agreement was broken by the Honda Legend, a.k.a. You see, this 276-horsepower limit was a gentleman's agreement that ran from 1988 through 2005.
